hunt seat team is led by captain is Kristen Boylan, a senior from KY. Although a smaller team with only ten
riders, the hunt seat team is known in the region to be strong riders competing
in the IHSA. Kristen has recently represented
MSU at regionals along with other riders to the zone level of competition. Hunt seat riders have the chose to be in a
flat practice as well as a jumping practice.
Again the main emphasis put on hunters, equitation and equitation over
MSU equine family does have a great group of horses for the team to practice
on. There are some representation of
quarter horses, TB, paints, warm bloods, hunter ponies, and appaloosas to ride
during the team practices. They range
from young projects to retired show horses with a nice show record and
wonderful beginner horses worth their weight in gold. MSU promises to have a furry friend for all
levels of riding.
IHSA allows a division for all levels of riding, no matter if you have never
ridden before or have shown on the A circuit/AQHA shows, MSU equestrian Teams
would be happy to have you join the fun.
All of the team members are also part of the MSU’s Equestrian Club,
which is open to anyone interested in the program regardless of experience or
desire to show. Overall, all three teams
and club members work as a single entity and make for a great environment to
learn and enjoy the equestrian field.
