Morehead State University is a public state institution accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). MSU is ranked among the top public universities in the South by U.S. News & World Report and has Kentucky’s best computer-student ratio in its computer laboratories. MSU offers one of the five space science degrees in the nation. Our graduates are accepted into professional programs including medical, dental, law, and veterinary schools at rates above state and national averages.
Morehead State University offers nearly 80 undergraduate degree programs in 20 academic departments -- Caudill College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Business and Public Affairs, College of Education, and College of Science and Technology. There are more than 50 graduate degree programs. The education specialist degree in five specialty areas is also offered. MSU offers one doctoral program in education.

To assist in the proper placement of students in the areas of English, mathematics, science, and social studies, all entering freshmen must take the ACT exam upon arrival unless valid ACT or SAT scores are on file.

Students transferring to the University from an accredited institution of higher education in the United States must submit the following:
Transfer of Credits: Credits earned from international institutions will be considered only after they have been evaluated by World Education Services, Inc.; website: www.wes.org; mailing address: P.O. Box 11623, Chicago, IL 60611-0623; email: email@example.com. It is the student's responsibility to contact the agency and pay all service fees.
Entering transfer students with fewer than 24 semester hours of credit completed may be asked to take the ACT exam for placement in English, mathematics, science and social studies courses.
MSU offers two scholarships specifically for international undergraduate students.
Honors Scholarship The scholarship covers tuition, on-campus housing cost up to a four-person suite, meal plan cost up to the 15 flex meal plan, and up to $600 per semester for the cost of books and supplies charged to the student account at the MSU Bookstore; and is applied after other eligible aid is posted. Total financial aid may not exceed total cost of attendance. Please visit the Honors Scholarship webpage for details. International Student Scholarship To be eligible, students must either 1) apply as an incoming freshman with an ACT Composite of 20 or SAT score of 940 (Critical Reading and Math) or 2) as a transfer student with a GPA of 3.3. Students must maintain satisfactory academic progress for renewal.
MSU now offers an English as a Second Language (ESL) program to support international students. You may enroll in the Intensive English Program, which is a full-time program focused on developing English proficiency (F Visa). Visiting international students (J Visa) may take courses for language support while taking courses in their majors.
