Transferring Made Simple 

 MSU provides transfer students with:

You are considered a transfer student if you have taken college classes elsewhere after high school graduation or completion of the GED.

Scholarships

Transfer Scholarship- $2,000 per year ($8,000 over 4 years) for those new transfer students with at least 30 college credit hours and a 3.5 or higher GPA.

KCTCS Transfer Scholarship- $4,000 per year ($16,000 over 4 years) for those KCTCS transfer students with at least 30 college credits and a 3.5 or higher GPA.

Kentucky Coal County College Completion Scholarship- If you are a student from Bell, Floyd, Harlan, Johnson, Knott, Letcher, Magoffin, Martin or Pike County with 60 college credit hours, a new scholarship may help you complete a 4-year degree at MSU at Prestonsburg. 

How to Transfer:

1. Complete the Online Undergraduate Admissions/Scholarship Application. 

2. Have official transcripts from each previous institution be sent to the Office of Enrollment Services. In order to be official, transcripts must be mailed directly to MSU from your previous school.

3. If you have completed less than 24 college credit hours, please submit your High School Transcripts and ACT or SAT scores.

4. Provide the $30 Application Fee.

Visit MSU

MSU offers several ways for transfer students to see why MSU is right choice for you.

Campus Visit- Schedule a visit to campus Monday- Friday.

Transfer Visit Day- Join us for transfer visit day held once a month. 

Meet MSU- Let MSU come to you, these events are held in the late afternoon or evening through out the semester. 

KCTCS campus visits- Make an appointment with one of our transfer Enrollment Services Counselors at your campus on a regular basis.

Open House - Visit campus on a Saturday and be introduced to Morehead State. This event is held twice a semester.
