Rank 1 programs aim to refine teachers’ instructional skills and arm them with the latest trends in education models, behavior patterns, technology, and leadership techniques.

National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE)

NCATE is the profession’s mechanism to help establish high quality teacher preparation.

Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board

The Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB) is responsible for issuing and renewing certificates for all Kentucky teachers and administrators.

Admission to Morehead State University (see MSU admission requirements).

Admission Requirements:

1) Master's degree or fifth-year program
2) Minimum GPA of 3.0
3) Must hold a valid teaching certificate or statement of eligibility for exceptional children

Program Requirements:

1) Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA
2) Successfully complete a written comprehensive exam with a score of 80 percent or better
