Requirements for Admission

1. First Time Freshmen
- Submit an Undergraduate Admissions/Scholarship Application
- Submit a copy of your ACT or SAT score. Minimum ACT score of 18 or SAT of 870 to be admitted unconditionally.
- Submit a copy of your OFFICIAL high school transcripts (must be signed and sealed from your school)
- Have an Admission Index of 450 to be admitted unconditionally. (Does not apply for Transfer Students)
- To calculate your Admissions Index, multiply your High School GPA by 100 and ACT score by 10, and add the two scores together
- Example, using GPA of 3.2 and ACT score of 21
3.2 (GPA) x 100 = 320
21 (ACT) x 10 = 210
Admission Index = 530
- If your Admission Index falls between 400 and 449, you may be admitted provisionally to MSU
2. Transfer Students- with MORE than 24 credit hours transferring
- Submit an Undergraduate Admissions/Scholarship Application
- Submit a copy of your OFFICIAL college transcript(s)
3. Transfer Students- with LESS than 24 credit hours transferring
- Submit an Undergraduate Admissions/Scholarship Application
- Submit a copy of your OFFICIAL high school transcripts
- ACT or SAT scores
- Submit a copy of your OFFICIAL college transcript(s)
4. International Students- Please visit

- Submit an International Undergraduate Application
- Official records of previously educational experiences
- Evidence of proficiency in the English language
- Official verification of financial resources
- $30 application fee
5. Returning MSU Student- have not attended any other school
- Submit a new Undergraduate Admissions/Scholarship Application
- Select "Returning Student" as student type on application
6. Returning Transfer Student- have previously attended MSU and attended other school(s)
- Submit a new Undergraduate Admissions/Scholarship Application
- Submit transcript(s) from the colleges or universities attended since leaving MSU
- Select "Returning Transfer Student" as student type on application
7. Visiting Student- attending another university or college and need to take a few additional classes
- Submit an Undergraduate Admissions/Scholarship Application
- Submit a Visiting Student Statement
- Select "Visiting Student" as student type on application
8. Special Student- not interested in working towards a degree
- Submit an Undergraduate Admissions/Scholarship Application
- Select "Special Student" as student type on application
9. High School Student- current high school student wanting to take a MSU class
