Welcome to the Office of Administrative Computer Applications (ACA) at Morehead State University.  ACA is the administrative service unit responsible for supporting MSU's enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.

In 2005, MSU partnered with Datatel, Inc., to replace its former AIMS administrative computing system.  AIMS was used for 22 years to automate academic and administrative processes at the institution.

A goal was established to "Select and replace the current administrative system with an integrated information technology solution that will enable on-going improvements in business and service processes throughout the institution."

After a detailed search, Datatel, Inc.'s Colleague system was selected.  The institution has come a long way in the past three years implementing all the Colleague applications.  The following are modules that have been recently implemented or in the implementation stage:

  • Degree Audit (live March 31, 2008)
  • Fixed Assets (live August 19, 2008)
  • eAdvising (live November 2008)
  • Retention Alert (live Fall 2008)

The Datatel Portal is currently in the implementation stage.  This web-based software solution offers a single point of entry for faculty, staff, and students who need access to the most widely used online resources at MSU.  These resources include email, calendaring, campus news, events, collaboration, online document storage, important announcements, news syndication, to do list, pictures of the week and weather.  The Portal is scheduled to go live with a pilot group mid October and live campus wide Spring 2009.

To further enhance business practices, MSU has partnered with several additional vendors as part of the ERP replacement including:

  • Aquire - organization charts
  • iStrategy - business reporting
  • CollegeNet R25 - facilities management
  • Source4 - system printing
  • NovusHR - online job search/applicants
  • SchoolDude - physical plant workorders
  • Microsoft, Inc. - FRx

The Datatel Active Campus component, Active Admissions was implemented late summer 2008.  Another component, Active Alumni, is in the implementation stage.

Much work remains, but the future is bright!
