Application ProcedureTo be eligible for this scholarship you must submit a completed application packet, including admission application form, transcripts and test scores, by the March 15 priority application deadline.
Please ensure the MSU alumnus is active with the Alumni Association prior to the March 15 priority application deadline.
RequirementsBe admitted to MSU for the 2014-15 academic year as an entering freshman or as a transfer student with fewer than 30 hoursand meet all of the following requirements:
1. Be a legal resident of Kentucky; and
2. Have at least one parent or grandparent or the student’s spouse be an MSU alumnus and an active member of the MSU Alumni Association. Active member is defined as someone who makes annual gifts to the MSU Foundation, Inc.; and
3. Have at least a 2.5 unweighted high school GPA; and
4. Achieve a minimum 18 ACT composite score (860 SAT compsoite verbal + math)
“New incoming freshmen” include students transferring that have completed fewer than 30 hours of college credit. “Transfer students” refer to those who have completed 30+ hours of college credit at another institution. College credit hours completed prior to high school graduation, including Early College Program courses, do not affect scholarship eligibility.
Additional InformationThis scholarship may be awarded in addition to another academic achievement scholarship.
Recipients receive $1,000 ($500 per semester) for fall and spring semesters of enrollment. Students receiving outside scholarships, including KEES funds, and financial aid may not receive more aid than total cost of attendance.
Criteria for renewal: Achieve a minimum cumulative 2.75 MSU GPA during the first two semesters and a minimum cumulative MSU GPA of 3.00 each semester thereafter; maintain continuous full-time enrollment (at least 12 hours) with MSU; and satisfy the University’s housing policy.
