At Morehead State, we offer courses to help you in academic areas where you are having difficulty through the College Readiness program. If you failed to meet the required college entrance exam benchmarks in English, mathematics or reading, you will be required to take enhanced courses in those subjects before taking those required for your degree to improve your skills and ensure your success. Our programs and academic support provide students with the best opportunity to learn mathematics, reading and writing skills they will need to be prepared for college-level courses. High School Students
If you are a high school senior who has already taken a KYOTE test, work with your school counselor to ensure that the MSU Testing Center has received your most recent scores. These scores will determine your ability to register for classes at SOAR.
If you are an incoming student whose ACT subtest scores falls below state college readiness standards (see the table below) you will be required to take a placement test in those areas. The placement test will determine which college readiness courses you will need to take. Contact your advisor for additional information.
