He came to MSU as chair of the then-Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation in 1989 and retired in 2005. As chair, he coordinated the master’s degree programs and taught a range of courses. His long list of credentials included projects in Asia, Bahrain and the Kingdom of Laos. He was presented a distinguished service award by the Kentucky Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. He served on Faculty Senate and was committee chair of the American Red Cross.
