This session is the first step in becoming a reviewer of courses for the Quality Matters™ (www.qmprogram.org) recognition of online and hybrid courses. It is also one of three requirements for MSU’s pilot program of Online Teaching Certification. This session may also be of interest as a "behind the scenes" look for those who wish to have their course(s) reviewed by QM. In the seminars you will learn the underlying principles of Quality Matters™, how to use the QM Rubric and the scoring system, and practice applying the rubric to an online course. Because this is for national certification, you must attend the entire workshop (part 1 and part 2) if you are interested in becoming a Peer Reviewer. We are not able to "excuse" partial absences. In the near future, this professional development opportunity will be available in a four-week online format.
If you took Quality Matters™ training in the past, you may want to take this opportunity to refresh your understanding and learn about the new 2011-2013 Rubric. There have been some significant changes.
