Biology Minor

Program Info

The minor in biology is a good companion to other science-related degrees. It requires a biology core of 4 courses including biology, zoology, botany and genetics, as well as elective courses in biology and supplemental chemistry course work.

Morehead State University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

 

This is not a degree program, but is a good supplement to a variety of science-related degrees.

Biology Minor

The biology minor is a good supplement to a variety of science related degree programs, please refer to your preferred major for career options.

BIOL 171 — Principles of Biology, 4
BIOL 210 — General Zoology, 4
BIOL 215 — General Botany, 4
BIOL 304 — Genetics, 3

Elective Requirements, 9
Three additional courses (minimum of nine hours). These courses must be selected from the list of BIOL courses. Core and elective accepted for the biology area (track 1).

Supplemental Requirements, 8
The student must take one of the following sequences:
Sequence I
CHEM 101 - Survey of General Chemistry, 4
CHEM 201 - Survey of Organic Chemistry, or 4

Sequence II
CHEM 111 - Principles of Chemistry I, 4
CHEM 112 - Principles of Chemistry II, 4
