Music Major - Bachelor of Arts in Music-Major (BA)

Program Info

The Bachelor of Arts degree  in music provides for the study of music within a liberal arts curriculum. Emphasis is placed upon the study and performance of music literature. It is suitable for preparing students for careers in music other than performance or teaching music in the public schools.  This degree can also be used as a pre-professional course of study.

A minor area of study is required for this degree.

Career activities for music professionals are widely varied and often intertwined.  Most practitioners of this art form have a combination of facets to their professional activities.

Admission to Morehead State University (see MSU admission requirements).

An entrance and placement audition for all music-major programs is required prior to initial registration for courses required by degree programs (see Music Admission & Scholarship Application and audition requirements).  A minor area of study is also required for this degree.
