Internships and Study Abroad Programs

MSU students have served as interns in the Kentucky General Assembly, the White House, U.S. Congress, and Canadian Parliament. They haveparticipated in Kentucky Institute for International Studiesand Cooperative Center for Study Abroadsummer programs in Europe and Latin America.You will also have the opportunity to particpate in these state, national, and international internship programs and study abroad programs.

STATE AND NATIONAL INTERNSHIPS

 
Kentucky Capitol  Kentucky Legislative Internship Program

The Kentucky Legislative Intern Program provides students with the opportunity to participate in the Kentucky legislative process. Students work for four months with Legislative Research CommissionandGeneral Assembly. Washington Center Logo  Washington Center for Internships and Seminars

The Washington Center provides students with the opportunity to participate in life of the nation’s capital. During the academic year, students intern with national advocacy groups, international NGOs, federal government agencies, and in congressional offices; and in conjunction withtheir internshipstake courses and participate in leadership forums. INTERNATIONAL INTERNSHIPAND STUDY ABROAD PROGRAMS

 
Canadian Parliamentary Internship Logo  Canadian Parliamentary Internship Program

The Canadian Parliamentary Internship Program, sited in Ottawa for five weeks from mid-May to mid-June, involves students in the political life of a member of Canadian Parliament by participating in the work of the MP’s office, attending House of Commons sessions, committeemeetings,official government functions, and traveling to Montreal and Toronto. CCSA Logo  Cooperative Center for Study Abroad

The Cooperative Center for Study AbroadoffersFall and Spring semester programs in London. During Winter break, CCSA has programs in London, London and Dublin, and Sidney. In the summer, CCSA programs include Australia, Belize, England, Ghana, Ireland, India, Jamaica, Hong Kong, and Scotland. CCSA also offers Spring, Summer, and Fall internships in Dublin, London, and Sidney. KIIS Logo  Kentucky Institute for International Studies

The Kentucky Institute for International Studiesoffers Fall and Spring semester programs in France, Germany, and Spain. In the Summer, Latin American study programs are sited in Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Mexico. In Europe, the KIIS has summer programs in Austria, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, Spain, Turkey and the Ukraine.
