ACADEMIC PROGRAMS
Morehead State University offers a wide range of opportunities for performing arts study. Our nationally accredited degree programs include majors in theatre, theatre with teaching certification, music education, performance, accompanying, jazz studies, and traditional music. There is also opportunity to minor in dance, theatre, music, traditional music, and arts administration (interdisciplinary arts and humanities study).
For those students with a non-teaching undergraduate degree in music and who wish to pursue teacher certification in music, the Department of Music, Theatre and Dance also offers a Post-Baccalaureate Integrated Music P-12 Initial Certification Program.
Our graduate program offers the Master of Music Degree with concentrations in music education (including Kodaly) or performance. Study is centered around a specialization in voice, instrumental or choral conducting, brasswinds, woodwinds, percussion, orchestral strings, keyboard instruments, guitar, jazz, or Kodaly.
