Morehead State University hosts one of the oldest Jazz Clinics in the Midwest. In its current format the clinic is noncompetitive and features extended workshops with top name clinicians. This is an opportunity for your band to interact in a more meaningful way with the clinicians. At the end of the day the clinicians are featured with the MSU Jazz Ensembles in a concert setting. Please bring your group no matter what their performance level and learn more about this great American art form.
This event will provide musicians with an opportunity to play for and hear other students in master classes and clinics with professional saxophonists, trumpeters, trombonists, pianists, drummers guitarists and bass players. Clinic topics include improvisation, rhythm section play, as well as large ensemble and small ensemble jazz performance practice.
