This option is intended for those with a strong interest in computer and network security.
The Computer Science Area of Concentration is designed for those who wish to enter graduate school in computer science or a related discipline.
The B.S. in computer science provides an in-depth study of many aspects of a computing system. Knowledge is gained in programming languages, operating systems, computer electronics, database systems, graphics, and software development.
The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program at Morehead State University is an Area of Concentration in the Imaging Sciences baccalaureate degree program. Sonography is the use of sound waves to generate an image for the assessment and diagnosis of various medical conditions. Sonography is commonly associated with obstetrics and the use of ultrasound imaging during pregnancy, but this technology has many other applications in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions throughout the body. Along with lecture courses, the program provides "hands-on" opportunities in state-of-the-art laboratory facilities and during clinical assignments at health care agencies associated with the program. Graduates may be eligible to sit for the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers' (ARDMS) national certifying examinations in the areas of sonographic physics and instrumentation, abdomen and obstetrics/gynecology. The program prepares graduates who seek employment in hospitals, imaging centers, and physicians' offices as Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
The program has a selective admission process and limited enrollment. Students are admitted once a year (April), with classes beginning in the second summer session of each year. The qualified applicant must be a radiographer (registry-eligible or registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) and have completed all prerequisites prior to entry (see ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS for additional information.)
Following official acceptance, the program consists of 13 months (full-time) of didactic coursework and clinical practice averaging 30 - 36 hours per week. The student will begin courses during Summer II. All classes and labs are scheduled Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, including a lunch break. During the first eight weeks of the spring and fall semesters, the student will attend classes and labs Monday through Thursday and will attend clinicals on Fridays. During the second eight weeks of each fall and spring semester, the student will be assigned to a clinical affiliate on Monday through Friday for 40 hours per week. A third and fourth clinical is required during the summer near the end of the curriculum with the student attending Monday through Friday for 40 hours per week. The total number of class and lab hours in the sonography program is 456, while 1,016 are required for clinical. This may vary slightly each year due to the University's academic calendar.

The Environmental Chemistry Major was expressly designed for students that want to pursue careers in environmental chemistry immediately after graduation, or that want to go to graduate school in Environmental Chemistry.
The Equine Science Program at Morehead State University in an Option of the Area of Concentration in Agricultural Sciences. Agriculture core courses are provided as the framework for the degree with ancillary courses in horsemanship, equitation teaching, equine management, equine breeding and reproduction, animal nutrition, livestock judging and other support instruction. This program provides "hands-on" opportunities at the Derrickson Agriculture Complex, the University's 325 acre working farm. Many students are also actively involved on the MSU Equestrian Team.
Exercise Science is the study of anatomical and physiological aspects of exercise and human performance. Career opportunities include corporate and clinical fitness, cardiac rehabilitation, sports conditioning, injury prevention, personal training and rehabilitation and coaching.
The General Agriculture Program at Morehead State University is an Option of the Area of Concentration in Agricultural Sciences. Agriculture core courses are provided as the framework for the degree with ancillary courses in animal science, horticulture, agronomy, agribusiness, and agriculture mechanics. It is a diverse agricultural program providing "hands-on" opportunities in various animal and plant laboratories.
General Chemistry Major is a broad degree in chemistry and is useful for many different career choices. Many students in the pre-health careers opt for this degree because they would like to have a Major/Minor rather than an Area degree. Students wanting to pursue a career in chemistry may also take this, though it does not have the same depth as the Professional Chemistry Area.
Earth System Science (geology) provides the knowledge and the skills to make observations and informed interpretations about the nature of the Earth and its relation to human activities.
The Golf Course Management Program at Morehead State University is an Option of the Area of Concentration in Agricultural Sciences. Agriculture core courses are provided as the framework for the degree with ancillary courses in landscape maintenance and management, sports marketing, business management, and other associated topics. The program provides "hands-on" opportunities in various plant laboratories. Additionally, students get first-hand exposure to course content at Eagle Trace Golf Course, a University owned and operated 18 hole golf course.
