Morehead State University has a long-standing tradition of band excellence. The University Bands are part of the comprehensive music education program. Seasonal student participation opportunities are available in Marching Band with year-round performance opportunities in Concert Band, Symphonic Winds, and Symphony Band. Outstanding invitational performances by the MSU Symphony Band for state and national music conventions have included performances for the Kentucky Music Educators Association, the National Band Association, the College Band Directors National Association, and the 54th National Biennial In-Service of the Music Educators National Conference. Internationally, the MSU Symphony Band and Percussion Ensemble have recently performed in The People’s Republic of China, Brazil and Spain.
