MSU offers a business graduate certificate in healthcare management.

Health Systems Management (HSM) Certificate

The health systems management certificate program prepares students for leadership in the healthcare industry and to address the national priority for university-based curriculum to meet the increased demand for healthcare professionals with competencies in health information technology and health systems transformation. 

Program Requirements

Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from an institutionally accredited institution with an overall minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.5 and at least 3.0 on all graduate work that may apply to the certificate.

In addition, admission to the certificate program will require meeting at least one of the following criteria:

  • Minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in a healthcare or business position following completion of the bachelor's degree.
  • Completion of a prior graduate degree program.

Requirements for the Certificate

  1. Maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA in all graduate coursework.
  2. Apply for completion at the beginning of the term in which all requirements will be completed. Students can access the completion forms online at  or visit the Graduate School, 701 Ginger Hall, Morehead, KY 40351. The completion form can also be faxed to: 606-783-5061.
  3. Satisfactorily complete all program requirements.
