Computer Science and Electronics

The Department of Computer Science and Electronics offers a variety of degree programs to prepare you to work in a wide range of technology careers, including video game design and coding, web development and more.

Our programs offer hands-on experience with real-world projects as part of your coursework. You will be challenged to think critically and solve technology problems and you will learn skills that are in demand in a growing job sector. As a student, you will also have the opportunity to conduct research as early as your freshman year through MSU's Undergraduate Research Fellowship program. Through the program, you'll work side-by-side with faculty members on research projects and could possibly have your research published or present your findings at professional conferences.

A recent study by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE) shows a high demand for engineering degrees. Read the article from the CPE to learn more.
