Profile

Dr. Steve Chen was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Before teaching in higher education, Chen was a basketball coach for a few professional teams in Taiwan. He studied and worked at UCLA as a student manager and at Cal State Fullerton as a GA. After the Chinese Basketball Alliance experienced an indefinite lockout, he began to study for his doctoral degree at the United States Sports Academy. During the course of his tenure at Morehead State University, Chen has published many peer-review journal articles, research studies, abstracts and conference proceedings. He actively presents with students and colleagues at local, state, regional and state-level conferences.

Chen says what he enjoys most about teaching is developing a working relationship and friendship with students, sharing ideas and witnessing students completing their degrees and successfully getting their jobs. He enjoys exercising, drawing, listening to music, attending sporting events and crunching data in his spare time.
