Tracy Counts

About Me

I am Tracy S. Counts, and although originally from Southwest Virginia, I have lived in Kentucky for 30 years. I live in Hazard, and my MSU office is based on the campus of Hazard Community and Technical College. I have 16 years of experience working in Higher Education and love helping students. I attended a community college before transferring to my four-year university to get my Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Science and Elementary Education.

I worked full time while earning my master’s degree in social work, so I understand the needs of transfer and adults who work full time while pursuing their educational goals. I do a lot of volunteer work with my church and community, including the American Red Cross East Kentucky Chapter. I love to cook and learn new recipes, and I enjoy visiting various regional lakes. My favorite place to take visitors on campus is Eagle Lake. How cool is it to have your own lake right on campus?
