Bio
Mrs. Damron graduated from Marshall University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. In 2009, she achieved her master's in Nursing Education while working full-time. She is currently teaching Fundamentals and Community Nursing in the BSN program and teaches an online medical terminology elective.
As an RN for the past 32 years, Mrs. Damron has worked in a variety of areas. The majority of her career was inside the hospital in the following areas: medical-surgical, maternal child, quality management and education. She served as one of the nurse educators for over 700 nurses at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. She also briefly worked for Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in home health, and prior to coming to MSU, she taught in the Associate Nursing Degree program at St. Mary's School of Nursing in the didactic and clinical/lab areas. She loves working with nursing students and has been in nursing education full-time for the past 11 years.
Mrs. Damron currently resides in Grayson, Ky. With her husband, Tim. They have two grown married children, Josh and Candice (a graduate of MSU), and Josh and his wife have a beautiful little girl, Ella.
Mrs. Damron says, "It has been a privilege to be a nurse all these years and to give back as a nursing educator to help students reach their goal of becoming a nurse one day. I look forward to continuing teaching in such a great nursing program at MSU and look forward to meeting all our great students!"
