Bio
Dr. Ellett serves as Chair of the Department of Nursing and brings more than 20 years of experience in nursing education to both classroom and clinical instruction. She is committed to advancing academic excellence, fostering student success, and preparing future nurses to meet the evolving needs of healthcare.
Dr. Ellett earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree in 2012, with a focus on clinical practice, and her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree in 2006 from the University of Kentucky. She is also a 1991 graduate from the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program at Morehead State University. Her clinical background in medical-surgical and maternity-newborn nursing, combined with her leadership experience, enables her to effectively bridge nursing practice and education while promoting evidence-based practice, compassionate care, and lifelong learning.
Dr. Ellett has authored and co-authored articles published in peer-reviewed nursing journals and has presented on a variety of nursing and nursing education topics at state and national conferences.
