Profile

Mr. Flavell was chief photographer for 24 years at "The Daily Independent" and a CNHI state editor through that newspaper for five years.

For seven years he contracted with "The Associated Press," "The Lexington Herald-Leader," "The Daily Independent," "The Louisville Courier-Journal" and "Kentucky Today." His work has also appeared in "The New York Times" and "The Washington Post."

Mr. Flavell won first place in The Kentucky News Photographers Association’s 2012 and 2014 for News Picture Story, and third place for News Picture Story in 2017.
