Profile

Middleton teaches and researches in the field of documentary film production, social media management, and TV studio production. He is an experienced instructor of mass communication courses as well as skills-based courses in TV Production, Social Media, and Documentary filmmaking.

Research

Middleton's research focuses on documentary film focusing on social, imaginative, ethnographic, and eccentric stories about Appalachia and the American South. When filming, exceeding the divide between observer and subject. His films have been featured in film festivals internationally, and broadcast on Kentucky PBS affiliate Kentucky Educational Television (KET) Arkansas PBS affiliate Ozark Mountain Television, West Virginia Public Broadcasting, and WOSU Ohio Public Media.
