Profile

Dr. Steve Stubbs was born and raised in Newport, Kentucky. He grew up, attended the Newport Independent Schools, and graduated from Newport High School. While in high school, Stubbs's main study focused on the career and technical education field of graphic arts. Stubbs went to a two-year college, Antonelli Institute of Art and Photography, and received an associate's degree in photography. After graduating, he worked for various companies in the field of photography and printing, such as Proctor and Gamble as a field photographer and as a press operator. He then ran his own photography business and worked part-time for a local print shop. He then worked in the Newport school system as a Graphic Arts Instructor and went to Northern Kentucky University and obtained his B.S. in Industrial Education Technology. He then attended Eastern Kentucky University and received a master's in Career and Technical Education with an administration emphasis. Afterward, he earned his Doctorate of Education in Leadership Administration at Morehead State University. He has been a principal where he transformed the outcome of students into one of the state's highest achieving College Career Ready Technical Centers for three years in a row. Stubbs is a career and technical education educator and field base resource teacher.
