Suzi White successfully defended her doctor of nursing practice (DNP) project titled "A Risk Reduction Education Intervention for Cardiovascular Risk Factors Among College Students at the University of Kentucky on November 1, 2019. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing (2005) from the University of Kentucky and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (1994) from Morehead State University. Her focused research agenda for the past ten years has been cardiovascular risk reduction among vulnerable populations. She was an interventionist for an NIH grant-funded study conducted by UK among incarcerated individuals. She collected data and conducted research regarding cholesterol health education among fifth graders in the Gateway District. Her DNP research project sought to determine whether cardiovascular risk reduction education delivered via social media was effective in reducing risk among college students ages 18-24. White's clinical experience includes family health nursing (OB/PEDS), public health nursing (she is a board-certified public health clinical nurse specialist) and long-term care supervision of staff nurses. She is a Kentucky Colonel.
