Star Theater Public Show for Families

Star Theater show

Full dome planetarium feature "Stars" plus a live night sky show.

Family shows (at 11 a.m.) are designed for families with young children (ages 4 to 10).

About the show: "STARS"

Every star has a story. Some are as old as time, faint and almost forgotten. Others burn bright and end their lives in powerful explosions. New stars are created every day, born of vast clouds of gas and dust. Through every phase of their existence, stars release the energy that powers the universe. Journey to the farthest reaches of our galaxy and experience both the awesome beauty and destructive power of stars. The stunning animation highlighted by astronauts, spacecraft, telescopes, nebulas, cluster, and more, was created by the talented team of the National Space Centre (Leicester, UK). This dramatic program features the voice talent of Mark Hamill. The Nashville Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Albert-George Schram, resident conductor, performed part of the Stars soundtrack.

STAR THEATER

The Space Science Center’s Star Theater at Morehead State University is a state-of-the-art digital planetarium serving the surrounding area of Eastern Kentucky. The planetarium offers public shows on second and fourth Saturdays throughout the year on a first-come, first-served basis: reservations do not need to be made in advance. Tickets may be purchased with cash or a check at the door. We cannot take credit cards. Typically, a planetarium show includes a special feature from our extensive program library as well as a tour of the night sky. We offer laser shows Saturdays throughout the year.
