Build Strong Engineering Day Camp

Build Strong is for students interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. In this 6-day STEM-based program hosted by the Center for STEM+eXcellence, students will learn science, mathematics, and engineering as well as the conduct, ethics, and professionalism required for success in these fields.

Build Strong is for rising 7th - 10th-grade students in Kentucky. The program culminates with students engineering, constructing, and testing one of three basic bridge types. Topics include scientific measurement and error, linear motion, forces, gravity, free-body diagram analysis, vectors, algebra, trigonometry, and engineering concepts.

Students can be dropped off between 8:30 and 9 a.m. with a pick-up time of 5 p.m. Lunch and snacks are included in the price of the camp.

The Center for STEM+eXcellence, a program within the Craft Academy for Excellence in Science and Mathematics, offers informal STEM+X education opportunities for Kentucky students in grades K-12. Programs are offered during the summer and throughout the year.
