SBDC to host open house May 5

Morehead State University’s Small Business Development Center will host an open house Friday, May 5, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Innovation Launchpad, 149 East Main Street in Morehead, as the center celebrates National Small Business Week.

Every year since 1963, the President of the United States has issued a proclamation announcing National Small Business Week, which recognizes the critical contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners.

More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business, and they create about two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year.

As part of National Small Business Week, the U.S. Small Business Administration takes the opportunity to highlight the impact of outstanding entrepreneurs, small business owners, and others from all 50 states and U.S. territories. Every day, they’re working to grow small businesses, create 21st Century jobs, drive innovation and increase America’s global competitiveness.

Refreshments will be served.

The East Kentucky Small Business Development Centers are located in Morehead, Pikeville and Ashland. These centers provide free one-on-one consulting services and training to new ventures and existing businesses.

Training programs, sponsored or co-sponsored by SBDC, are available to all individuals without regard to race, color, sex, creed or national origin. Special arrangements will be made for those with disabilities if requested in advance.

Additional information and pre-registration are available by contacting Deidrea Niece at 606-783-2895 or visiting www.ksbdc.org.
