KET’s Kentucky Life to feature students’ work

KET-E-(1).jpgMorehead State University students Rikki Jones Nelson, Michael Jones, Alex Caudill, Iva Conway, Michael Tucker, Xavier Adkins, Robert Adams, Nick Garrison and Noah Wessel, along with faculty member Jeffrey Hill, will have their work featured on an upcoming episode of KET’s "Kentucky Life."

The students produced segments on MSU Sports Radio and Ashland’s Garden Roller Rink which will air on Saturday, May 13, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, May 14, at 4 p.m. on KET and on Monday, May 15, at 7 p.m. on KET2.

First, in a nod to Mother’s Day, the program takes a look at the important work of midwives. The show talks with Susan Stone, president of Frontier Nursing University, as well as several certified nurse midwives.

Then, Kentucky Life takes a trip to Ashland, where the Garden Roller Rink has the distinction of being one of the biggest skating rinks in the tri-state area. The program includes an interview with the rink’s owner, Bill Perry, as well as children and moms who look to the rink as a source of fun, safe entertainment.

Nelson, Tucker, Adkins, Adams and Garrison were involved with the Roller Rink segment.

And finally on the program, the show features MSU’s sports radio programming, which is a fixture in the Morehead community, covering both the town’s high school and college athletic events. The program talks with Chuck Mraz about his work and its importance to Morehead’s dedicated sports fans.

Caudill, Jones, Wessell and Conway were involved with the MSU sports segment.

In addition, host Doug Flynn talks with the MSU student producers involved in creating this segment.
