Eagle Fest 2017 planned at MSU
Morehead State University’s Recreation and Wellness Center parking lot will be transformed into Eagle Fest 2017 Wednesday, Aug. 16, from 6 until 9 p.m.
A concert and informational booths will be available for new and returning students to learn about their campus and community.
“We have more than 60 campus and community partners currently registered for booths,” said Shannon Colvin, associate director of leadership, programming, and inclusion. “I am extremely excited about the response we have had from both campus and community partners.”
The event is one of many that new and returning students will participate in as MSU kicks off the fall semester.
“I think an event like this helps our students become engaged and invested in the community that is their new home,” said Colvin. “By including campus and community partners, we hope to broaden their experience and welcome them to the Eagle Nation.”
The parking lot of the Recreation and Wellness Center will close at noon on Wednesday to accommodate event set up, which includes the band Whiskey Business.
Eagle Fest 2017 is sponsored by the Office of Student Activities, Leadership Development, the University Bookstore and Aramark.
“I hope our campus community learns about opportunities for them to be involved and follow their interest to create a great college experience, both on campus and with community partners,” said Colvin. “We have a lot to offer our students both on and off campus and I hope meeting those partners will help them take advantage of all Morehead and Rowan County has to offer.”
