Niles elected secretary of NCURA Region III

Morehead State University’s Dr. Scott Niles, Research Integrity and Compliance director, was recently elected as secretary of the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA), Region III.

NCURA is a national organization dedicated to advancing the field of research administration through education and professional development programs, the sharing of knowledge and experience and by fostering a professional, collegial and respected community. As NCURA’s largest region, Region III serves 12 states in the Southeast region of the United States (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia), as well as Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands and has a membership of nearly 1,700 individuals.

As secretary, Niles serves as a member of the executive committee and as chair of the communication committee. He is responsible for all non-financial records of the region, including minutes of regional business meetings and all other information and documentation required by the chair to prepare reports to the regional executive committee and national organization.

Niles has worked at Morehead State University since 2007.
