Retiree's Association Upcoming Activities
Members of the Morehead State University Retirees Association have a number of upcoming activities planned, including the Madrigal Feast with discounted tickets, a Christmas lunch and a basketball game.
Members and their guests will gather at the Echo Valley Winery in Fleming County for a holiday luncheon on Thursday, Dec. 7. Cost of the luncheon is $27. The deadline to RSVP is Nov. 30. Transportation will be provided either by University vehicles or rental vans, depending on the number of people going. If rental vans are needed, there will be a $10 per person charge. The group will leave from the Burke’s Outlet parking lot at approximately 10:30 a.m.
The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. with wine tastings for those interested for an additional charge of $7. Lunch will follow at noon. The menu will include a choice of Italian marinated chicken or hot brown casserole as the entree, salad, green beans, red roasted potatoes, dinner rolls and assorted cakes and pies for dessert.
The annual Madrigal Feast will be Thursday, Nov. 30 and Friday, Dec. 1. Retirees may purchase discounted tickets for Thursday evening for $25, while Friday night’s cost will be $30.
Thursday, Jan. 18, will be Retirees Appreciation Night at the MSU Eagles basketball games against Jacksonville State. It is a doubleheader game with the women tipping off at 4 p.m. and the men at 7 p.m. Free tickets are available by emailing events@moreheadstate.edu or by calling 606-783-2033 after Jan. 2, 2018. There will be a special reception for retirees , and association members will be recognized during the games.
The University will be closed for winter break beginning Tuesday, Dec. 19 and will reopen Monday, Jan. 2.
Arrangements are being finalized to tour and have lunch at MSU’s newest eatery, The Rock, in February; a trip to Blenko Glass in Milton, West Virginia, in March and the Annual Meeting Luncheon in early April.
