Miller takes over as AECT Foundation president

Photo: Dr. Chris MillerAfter serving two years as president-elect, Dr. Chris Miller, interim dean of the College of Education at Morehead State University, has become the president of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) Foundation.

He also was selected as an AECT Champion and recognized at the Breakfast of Champions at the convention, which provides an opportunity for attendees to meet and have discussions with leaders in the educational technology field. Miller participated with other leaders in the field in a presidential session on moving from the classroom to the boardroom and becoming an administrative leader at your institution.

Miller has been an active member of AECT and has served in the past as the president of the Division of Distance Learning and president of the Multimedia Production Division. The AECT is an international organization focused on improving instruction through technology. The AECT Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization devoted to supporting leadership, scholarships, internships, and fellowships.

Miller graduated with his B.S. degree from MSU and received an M.A. degree and an Ed.D. degree from the University of Kentucky.

Miller began at MSU as an instructor in 2001 and an assistant professor in 2003. He was promoted to associate professor in 2008. He was promoted to professor of education in 2013 and became the chair of the Department of Foundational and Graduate Studies in the College of Education.

He was named to his current position in June 2016.
