MSPR announces special programs for the holiday season

Morehead State Public Radio is offering its listeners a variety of special programs in celebration of the upcoming holiday season. MSPR’s holiday programming will begin airing on Friday, Dec. 15, and run through Sunday, Dec. 31.

The lineup includes:

Friday, Dec. 15

  • 10 a.m. - Hanukkah Lights: Stories of the Season
  • 11 a.m. - Hanukkah in Story and Song

Sunday, Dec. 17

  • 8 p.m.- Big Band Christmas

Monday, Dec. 18

  • 9 a.m. - Leroy Anderson Christmas Special
  • 10 a.m. - A Christmas to Remember
  • 11 a.m. - Center Stage from Wolf Trap: Holiday Special with the Boston Brass

Tuesday, Dec. 19

  • 9 a.m. - Spirit of the Season with United States Air Force Band
  • 10 a.m. - 2017 Children’s Holiday Program
  • 11 a.m. - Christmas with Madrigalia

Wednesday, Dec. 20

  • 9 a.m.- Christmas with Morehouse & Spelman Glee Clubs
  • 10 a.m.- A Christmas Celtic Sojourn
  • 11 a.m.- In Italia : A Renaissance Christmas from Venice, Naples, Milan, and beyond 2017

Thursday, Dec. 21

  • 9 a.m.- The Film Score: Music for the Winter Holidays
  • 10 a.m. -The Wonder of Christmas
  • 11 a.m. - Celebration of the Winter Solstice with Christmas Revels

Friday, Dec. 22

MSPR broadcasts 24 hours a day and serves more than 20 counties in Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia. WMKY (90.3 FM) serves as the flagship station for the network, and includes a translator in Inez.
