Oatman named assistant vice president for facilities
Morehead State University has announced Kim H. Oatman has been hired as the assistant vice president for facilities. He will assume the position, Tuesday, Jan. 2.
“I’m very pleased that Kim (Oatman) has agreed to join our team at Morehead State University, where his skills and background will prove invaluable,” said Beth Patrick, chief financial officer and vice president for administration.
Oatman is a highly experienced public administrator who has executive-level experience and has demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams of professionals and skilled workers in the maintenance, operations, planning, design and construction management of public universities.
He has strong technical and administrative qualifications with a proven track record of 17 years of public facilities management experience coupled with 12 years of experience in the planning, design and construction of governmental, healthcare, commercial and residential projects.
Oatman is a former assistant vice president at the University of Louisville and chief facilities officer at Murray State University. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Kentucky and earned his Master of Public Administration from Murray State.
At MSU, Oatman will be responsible for the management of human and material resources of the University Plant. Facilities Management operations include grounds and road maintenance, building maintenance, housekeeping, energy management and control, water distribution systems, trucking and moving, motor pool management, electrical and mechanical systems and risk management.
