Career Services seeks nominations for internship awards

Morehead State University’s Career Services is seeking nominations for its “Student Intern of the Year,” “Internship Employer of the Year” and “Internship Faculty of the Year” awards. Nominations must be received by Friday, March 2.

Experiential education offers career preparation and skill application outside the classroom and it is essential that students gain professional experience before graduation. The competitive job market is tied to a global economy where experience and diversified skills matter, and these are precisely the competitive-edge-takeaways that quality internships provide.

All students, employers and faculty engaged in internships, co-ops, student teaching experiences, practicums or clinicals during 2017 are eligible for nomination.

On-line nomination forms can be found at www.moreheadstate.edu/success/Career-Services/2017-Internship-Awards.

The Internship Awards will be presented at the 13th Annual Celebration of Student Scholarship on Wednesday, April 25.

“Career Services is proud to recognize the excellent students, employers and faculty who are committed to experiential education. We know that internships are critical to providing students the professional experience their future employers expect and we look forward to receiving some great nominations,” said Josh Taylor, career counselor/internship coordinator.

Additional information including nomination forms is available by contacting Career Services at 606-783-2233 or at www.moreheadstate.edu/career.
