Albert named interim provost
Morehead State University’s Dr. Jay Morgan, president, has named Dr. Bob Albert to serve as interim provost and vice president for academic affairs. Dr. Albert will serve for a one-year duration beginning July 1.
Albert will succeed Dr. Steven Ralston, who will retire June 30.
“Over the course of the next few months, Dr. Ralston and Dr. Albert will be working closely together in order to provide for a transition that assists our campus and provides leadership in academic affairs. I would like to thank Bob for his willingness to serve in this interim capacity,” Morgan stated in a campus-wide email.
Albert joined MSU’s faculty in 1995 to teach courses in finance. He served as interim dean for one year before being named dean of the College of Business in July 1999.
An MSU graduate, he earned a bachelor’s degree in English in 1984 and a Master of Business Administration degree in 1985. He completed his Ph.D. degree in finance from the University of Cincinnati in 1992.
Dr. Greg Russell will serve as interim dean of the College of Business and Technology.
