MSU will freeze housing rates for the 2018-19 school year

Morehead State University announced last week its plans to freeze tuition for the 2018-19 school year.

Dr. Jay Morgan, MSU president, has added that housing rates will be the same for next year (with the exception of Andrews Hall).

“This is another example of how Morehead State University is working for students and their families. In these uncertain times, MSU is doing its very best to make the Eagle experience an affordable value,” said Morgan.

The rates are tentative until the MSU Board of Regents approves them at the June meeting.

“Like all aspects of the University, the Office of Student Housing is hard at work to keep MSU an affordable option for our students. Living in our halls provides them the opportunity to live, learn, grow, and thrive and to be able to facilitate that in a cost-effective manner meets our mission in an outstanding way.” said Alan M. Rucker, Office of Student Housing director.

MSU offers a variety of housing options including traditional two-person rooms, suites and apartments. Our halls are alcohol- and tobacco-free with high-speed, wireless internet access and cable TV. Students also have access to cooking and vending spaces. All MSU residence halls have free laundry facilities.

Many MSU residence halls are newly renovated and our newest hall, Andrews Hall, opened in Fall 2016. It features spacious, suite-style rooms, Wi-Fi throughout and student meeting and collaboration spaces.

Students who live on campus have the opportunity to live and learn in an environment that fosters higher grade point averages, faster graduation rates, and a more connected collegiate experience than their off-campus peers.
