MSU undergraduate research gets a prestigious showcase through Posters-at-the-Capitol

Morehead State University’s long-standing reputation for academic quality is consistently reinforced through the institution’s emphasis on students participating in undergraduate research. Once again, that research will be given a showcase to a noteworthy audience with the 18th annual Posters-at-the-Capitol. The event takes place Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019, at the State Capitol in Frankfort.

Posters-at-the-Capitol is an event hosted collaboratively by Eastern Kentucky University, Kentucky Community and Technical College System, Kentucky State University, Morehead State University, Murray State University, Northern Kentucky University, University of Kentucky, University of Louisville and Western Kentucky University. It provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to engage in scholarship, research and creative work that is important to their educational experience and professional development while allowing members of Kentucky’s legislature and the governor the opportunity to better understand the importance of undergraduate research.

“Morehead State has a wonderful heritage in supporting undergraduate research. It gives legislators the opportunity to learn about the great things being done at Morehead State University.” said Dr. Michael Henson, associate vice president for research and dean of the MSU Graduate School. “It is only positive with regard to how Morehead State is received across the Commonwealth and how our students are received across the Commonwealth.”

All undergraduate students engaged in research projects with faculty mentors at Morehead State should consider submitting their work to be considered for presentation. The deadline for online registration/submission is 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12 (no registrations/submissions will be considered after this date).

For further information and questions concerning registration and submission, contact A.J. Boston,
