CBT to hold student conference

CBT logoThe Elmer R. Smith College of Business and Technology will host the “Beyond the Classroom” Student Conference on Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Morehead Conference Center.

MSU President Dr. Jay Morgan will be the keynote speaker at the event, and there will be two panel discussions. In the first panel, recent Morehead State graduates will discuss career development, the importance of networking, the benefits and pitfalls of social media, effective resume and interviewing techniques and more.

The second panel will focus on leadership in a changing environment.

“Students will gain valuable information on lessons learned, both what to do and what not to do, from those who have been in the workforce,” said Keith Moore, assistant dean of the Smith College of Business and Technology and manager of the Innovation Launchpad, who coordinated the conference. “Students will see how what they’ve learned in the classroom translates into the real world.”
