Elgazzar’s paper on mobile networks published in international journal

Elgazzar-embed.jpgDr. Heba Elgazzar, instructor of computer science in Morehead State’s Department of Computer Science and Information Systems (CSIS), and Adel Elmaghraby of the Department of Computer Engineering & Computer Science at the University of Louisville published a paper in the September 2018 edition of the International Journal of Computer Science and Information Technology (IJCSIT).

The paper, “Evolutionary Centrality and Maximal Cliques in Mobile Social Networks,” introduces an evolutionary approach to enhance the process of finding central nodes in mobile networks. This can provide essential information and important applications in mobile and social networks. This evolutionary approach considers the dynamics of the network and takes into consideration the central nodes from previous time slots.

“This research can improve the functionality of social networks,” Elgazzar said. “Finding the central nodes, which are essential nodes in the network, will help in understanding the interactions between all nodes and improving the current services. This will also help in introducing new dynamic services and enhancing the security of the networks.”

The pair also studied the applicability of maximal cliques algorithms in mobile social networks and how it can be used to find the central nodes based on the discovered maximal cliques.
