Rogers receives Angelicchio Memorial Scholarship
The Morehead State University Foundation, along with the Morehead Area Chi Omega Alumni Chapter members, have announced that Gloria Sue Rogers of Mt. Sterling is the recipient of the Liza Angelicchio Memorial Scholarship.
The scholarship namesake, Liza Angelicchio, is a former MSU student who lost her battle with cancer on July 9, 2016. To honor her life, her love for everything Morehead State, Chi Omega and the Greek community, the Morehead Area Chi Omega Alumni Chapter started the scholarship in her memory with the financial assistance of Angelicchio’s family and friends. The scholarship is a one-time award and is awarded to a new recipient annually pending available funding, with preference given to female students who have exhibited proven leadership ability on MSU’s campus.
Rogers is a sophomore at MSU majoring in health promotions with a minor in business management. She is the daughter of Michelle Rogers.
“There are no words to express how honored and proud I am to have received this scholarship,” Rogers said. “I feel so much closer to Chi Omega, and even though I’ve never met Liza, I feel so close to her and like we would be friends. I am forever thankful to her family for blessing me with this scholarship.”
