Events planned for MLK Week

MLK-300-167.pngMorehead State University will honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with community events and special programs, Jan. 21-24.

Scheduled events include:
  • Monday, Jan. 21: Community march beginning in Ballroom C of the Adron Doran University Center (ADUC) at 6 p.m.  
  • Tuesday, Jan. 22: The “I Have a Dream” program will be held at the ADUC Food Court from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Jan. 23: The Prefontaine Pub will be the location for screenings of the film, “King: A Man of Peace in a Time of War,” every hour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Thursday, Jan. 24: The MLK Wall will be on display on the second floor of ADUC from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“I would hope that everyone takes the opportunity to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King and his impact on the world,” said Shannon Colvin, assistant director of student activities, inclusion and leadership. “Dr. King’s legacy is one that affects everyone, and we hope this week gives everyone the opportunity to reflect on that impact and commit to working together to improve our global community.”

The week’s activities are sponsored by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the Eagle Diversity Education Center, the Office of Student Activities and the Campus Activities Board.
