Morehead State University’s Department of Art and Design offers programs on the undergraduate and graduate levels that makes it one of the best places to receive a comprehensive art, design or art education degree. MSU’s graphic design program has been recognized as the best in the Commonwealth by a national publication.
Animation Career Review, an online resource for careers in animation, game design, graphic design and digital art, named MSU the Top Graphic Design School in Kentucky for 2019. For its fifth annual rankings of graphic design, Animation Career Review highlighted MSU’s interdisciplinary approach for its Bachelor of Arts in Art and Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees and the Master of Arts in Art with a Concentration in Graphic Design for allowing students to customize the program with a specific focus while preparing students to pursue post-graduate education, careers in graphic design or independent studio practice.
Dr. Jeanne Petsch, professor or art and the associate dean of the School of Creative Arts, said there are many reasons why MSU’s graphic design program students are well-prepared for career success, including access to state-of-the-art computer labs, opportunities for Adobe certification, being able to become members of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) and having impactful instructors.
“The programs are supported by outstanding graphic design faculty who are talented designers that also care deeply about students and preparing them for post-graduation success in the design industry,” Petsch said.
