The Citizens Bank Scholarship Endowment established

Citizens Bank check presentationThe Morehead State University Foundation has announced the establishment of The Citizens Bank Scholarship Endowment. This scholarship endowment was created as part of the Soar to New Heights Scholarship Campaign with a generous gift of $50,000.

Founded in 1928 in Morehead, Kentucky, The Citizens Bank has been an integral part of the Morehead community and has consistently made it a priority to support MSU through philanthropic efforts and a long-standing corporate partnership.

The scholarship will be available to freshman students pursuing a degree in business management with preference to those majoring in finance or marketing. Preference will also be given to incoming freshmen from Bath, Morgan or Rowan counties to assist local students in pursuing their degree.

“The University is such an important part of this community and to this region. Citizens Bank is honored to be a part of that,” said Ryan Neff, vice president of Citizens Bank. “We believe in the mission of Morehead State University.”

The Citizens Bank was recognized for their contribution at the MSU Eagles men’s basketball game where the Eagles defeated Eastern Kentucky University 78-72 on Feb. 14 at Johnson Arena.

“Hopefully the Citizens Bank Scholarship Endowment will ensure student success,” Neff said. “No matter where you come from, everyone deserves a chance to receive a college education and we want to help that happen at MSU.”
