Earth Day Celebration set for April 19
Morehead State’s Earthwise Eagles will hold the annual campus Earth Day Celebration on Friday, April 19, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the lawn of the Adron Doran University Center (ADUC.)
The free event will feature booths where patrons can find information about sustainable living measures such as recycling, composting and more green living ideas. Other booths will include:
- MSU Farm plant and herb sale
- MSU Outdoor Adventures
- Forgotten Foods Farm
- Kentuckians for the Commonwealth
- Sustainable Morehead/Friends of Rodburn Hollow Park
- Morehead/Rowan County Recycling Center
During the festival, there will be documentary film screenings in the theater inside ADUC. The schedule is as follows:
- “Vanishing of the Bees,” 11 a.m. -12:30 p.m.
- “Before the Flood,” 12:45 p.m. – 2:25 p.m.
- “A Plastic Ocean,” 2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
The event will also feature a tree giveaway, the annual Recyclemania poster art contest, a raffle, games, concessions, and a free concert with performances by Byrd Law, the KCTM Mountain Music Ambassadors, The Woodsheep and Bedford.
