MSU Farm plant sale opens for season

Morehead State’s annual flower and vegetable plant sale will be held April 26-28, May 3-5 and May 10-11, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the greenhouse at the Derrickson Agricultural Complex.  

Plants that will be available include: 

  • Annual Flowers: petunias, geraniums, begonias, impatiens, zinnias, cosmos, snapdragons, Coleus and more. 
  • Hanging baskets: ferns and flowers 
  • Vegetables: many varieties of heirloom and hybrid tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squash, zucchini and okra. 
  • Herbs: several kinds of basil, cilantro, parsley, thyme, oregano, chives and sage. 

Four-inch potted annuals are $1, vegetable plants are $1 and potted herb plants are $2. Cash or check are the only accepted forms of payment. All proceeds from the sale will help support the University Farm.  

The farm is located at 25 MSU Farm Drive in Morehead. From the MSU campus, travel north on KY 32 and turn right onto KY 377 (Cranston Road.) After approximately one mile, the farm will be on the left. To get to the greenhouses, proceed to the second driveway, turn left and proceed to the greenhouse.
