Board of Regents to meet Aug. 8

The Morehead State University Board of Regents will hold a quarterly meeting on Thursday, Aug. 8, at 9 a.m. in room 329 of the Adron Doran University Center (ADUC).  

A new regent orientation will take place at 1 p.m. at ADUC.  

During the meeting, Rowan County Judge-Executive Harry Clark will swear in two new regents. Dr. Annie Adams is a professor of English and will serve as faculty regent. Colby Birkes is the president of the Student Government Association and will serve as student regent. 

The Board of Regents will vote for a vice chair and secretary and will appoint a treasurer at the meeting. 

The regents will also vote on the approval of the 2019-20 faculty handbook and revisions to the student code of conduct. 

Regents will hear updates on the Kentucky Employee Retirement System pension plan as well as a report on the University’s strategic plan goals for the 2019-20 school year.  

In other action, the Board of Regents will:

  • Enter an executive session to discuss confidential matters.
  • Conduct a self-evaluation of effectiveness during the 2018-19 school year.
  • Complete forms involving conflicts of interest and the Board of Regents Code of Conduct.
